As reported by firefighters, during the day yesterday and into today, Menomonee Falls fire suppression capacity was reduced to one Engine after its only Truck, 2772, was put Out of Service (OOS) over concerns about its aerial ladder, after only returning from prolonged repairs late last week.
The single Engine in service was to be OOS for a short period today to repair a wheel problem as parts were unavailable yesterday, and it was felt emergency service to correct the problem was unwarranted. Any additional fire capabilities needed will sought through automatic aid and early requests for mutual aid.
In order to provide the best response despite these issues, crews from Stations 2 & 4 were relocated to Station 3 over night, so that the single engine and a BLS ambulance were available to respond from a more centralized location. Paramedic ambulances continued to operate out of Stations 1, 3, and 5 as usual.
